Brackenbrae surgery is home to our NHS practice providing general medical services to 1850 patients in friendly comfortable and homely surroundings.
The building is a pre-war bungalow renovated and recently refurbished in 2014.
We have convenient car parking at the back of the premises and disabled back door access.
The practice aims to provide high quality medical care to our patients (within the confines of the GMS contract) as well as offering specialised services.
Waiting time for a GP appointment is very short. Clear evidence of this is seen in the yearly patient surveys. Our new way of working is that all calls are triaged and then passed to a member of the clinical team – GP, Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Physiotherapist or Pharmacists. Workload in all GP practices has increased and in line with many other practices we now close the phone lines from 1-2pm daily to allow staff to catch up with admin and attend training events. Emergency calls only are answered during this time. We do ask that you do not come to the surgery unless you have a pre-booked appointment between 1 and 2pm. We have kept our time to process repeat prescriptions at 2 working days. If you run out of your repeat medication please attend the pharmacy and you may be able to obtain a small supply of medication until the repeat item is processed.
